Ahhh Fat Bear Week. An awesome tradition where people on the internet vote for who is the ‘fattest’ bear at Brooks Falls in Katmai National Park.
Explore.org has compiled footage of the fattest bears that call Brooks River home to show how much weight they have put on in their months of gorging on salmon to prepare for hibernation.
These boys and gals are chonky and I absolutely love that there’s a March Madness style bracket competition to vote on which one is the fattest.
My money is on 151 Walker to take the prize. He’s an absolute UNIT. Second favorite is 32 Chunk because his name is awesome.
