Really cool story out of Colorado where ex-NASA research engineer and private pilot Rick Zelenka has spent the last few years perfecting his lightweight drone radar system to help planes avoid collisions. Mosaic and Drone Traffic are excited to announce the release of their successful drone detection system test at Colorado’s Platte Valley Airpark. The system alerts airplane pilot that a drone has entered the plane’s flight path and alerts manned aircraft to warn them of drones operating near them.
While we love drone footage and post it almost daily, we have to remember that aerial is photography is a privilege and not a right. Flying drones in restricted airspace is dangerous and could lead to severe consequences. For more about safe drone operations please visit FAA.
