Video: Mountain Bike Riders Navigate Trail In The Dark!

Mountain bikers from River Ridge Trails strapped on some 2500 lumen head lamps and hit the trail in the middle of the night. They rode the ‘Aspen For Trouble’ trail that’s part of River Ridge Trails on the North Saskatchewan River in Saskatchewan, Canada.

I definitely wouldn’t recommend doing this at home, but damn does it look like fun. It reminds me of the guided headlamp skiing Big Sky hosts.

I’m assuming these riders know the trail extremely well and are experienced riders, but that would still be extremely nerve-wracking, right?

River Ridge Trails: “Here’s a quick rip down Aspen for Trouble I recorded earlier this week well after dark. It was SO MUCH FUN to ride in the dark with powerful lights.”

Length: 1,014′
Descent: -42′
Description: The first black diamond descent oriented trail at River Ridge Trails, and it will test a wide range of your skills. Rock roll/drop, stairs, log drops, tight corners and a nice little bridge at the bottom. Precise control of both speed and lines will be rewarded here, and if not, you might find yourself doing more than just “aspen for trouble”
