Lookout Pass Ski Resort is reopening the Route of the Hiawatha scenic mountain bike trail today which has been dubbed the ‘crown jewel’ of Rail to Trails in the United States.
The trail covers 15 miles of abandoned train trestles, tunnels, and scenic views of the mountains near the Idaho-Montana border.
The trail is mostly downhill and shuttle busses pick riders up at the end of the trail to return them to the resort.
Take a look at how beautiful this trail is for yourself with this awesome video that provides a glimpse of this one of a kind biking trail.
The trail is open from today (May 28th) through September 19th. Tickets are required to access the trail, and bikes can be rented from the resort.
Happy bike season!
