Yosemite National Park will end their day-use reservation system at the end of September according to the Fresno Bee. The reservation system was put into place during the COVID-19 pandemic in an attempt to manage the enormous demand to visit the national parks nationwide. The system has been removed and reinstated multiple times throughout the pandemic.

The timing of this news has been called into question as the Delta variant has been running rampant in the nearby San Joaquin Valley and has also been detected in the park. Park officials are confident that operations will return to normal during the winter months.
