I sometimes have to remind myself in the middle of summer that the camp shredders and pros are still getting time on snow up at Timberline Lodge.

The terrain off Timberline’s Palmer Lift is the only outdoor lift-serviced skiing and riding available on the continent, and pro skier Sammy Carlson has been making the most of it.

Sammy was out shredding the pipe at Timberline this weekend while most of us were swimming, hiking, or doing other summer activities.

I’m DEFINITELY not jealous at all.

I mean skiing isn’t even that much fun. I can wait til November or December to ski. It’s not even that big of a deal. I bet the conditions are crap anyways. They probably all have to worry about getting sun-burned. Seriously, what’s all the hype about skiing in July? Sounds lame.

(This is what I tell myself so I can control my jealousy-fueled angst everytime I see a clip of summer skiing on Hood.)
