“For the last 25 years, my family and I have loved and embraced this ranch as a base for our horse program, running clinics and serving as a home for our many beloved horses,” Mr. Redford, 84, said in an email. “Looking ahead, we want to focus on expanding the facilities at our ranch located at Sundance in nearby Provo Canyon.”

Robert Redford has put his winter horse ranch in the state on the market. The Horse Whisper Ranch is a thirty-acre property located just outside of Provo and is within 16 miles of the Sundance Mountain Resort. Some of its most impressive features include a farmhouse, hay barns, horse corrals, a massive boat garage, and two hobby studios(woodshop and garden house). The house portion isn’t particularly grandiose for the former movie star, but it’s what comes with it that makes it worth it.

Named after the 1998 film “The Horse Whisper”, Redford purchased the property in 1996 to give his horses space to walk around during the snowy winter months. Robert Redford moved to Utah in 1961 and bought the first parcels of land that became Sundance Mountain Resort in the late ’60s. Along with his legendary acting and directing career, he helped found the Sundance Film Festival and Sundance Institute. He and his family will remain in Utah, as they still own 1800 acres in the state, including their ranch in Sundance.
