A fairly large earthquake rocked the Lake Tahoe area yesterday morning. The quake registered at 3.7 on the Richter Scale at 8:33 AM, and the epicenter was detected underneath Lake Tahoe itself.
There hasn’t been any damage reported, but Tahoe locals took to Twitter to share their experience during the quake:
It was like a half second long but pretty good jolt here in Truckee.

A series of small earthquakes jolted the Lake Tahoe area. The U.S. Geological Survey reported a 3.7 magnitude earthquake near the Tahoe Basin at around 8:30 this morning. A number of aftershocks were also recorded, with tremors felt as far as Placerville and Sacramento. @fox40 pic.twitter.com/DOiauKvuy8

We’re glad nobody was hurt, and that the quake didn’t do any significant damage.
