Trip Report: Skiing the NE Face of Wilson Peak - KÜHL Blog

A 37-year-old skier from New Mexico was rescued on the north face of Wilson Peak near Telluride, CO yesterday after tumbling 2,000 vertical feet.

His injuries are believed to be non life-threatening, and is receiving treatment at the Telluride Medical Center.

The San Miguel County Sheriff’s office posted on their Facebook page about the incident:

2,000 vertical feet?!

Holy shit… It’s a miracle he’s still alive.

Thank god he was rescued swiftly by the search and rescue crews.
