A new volcano burst through a crack in the Earth’s crust forming a series of small fountains that turned the night sky red on Friday night near Iceland’s capital Reykjavik.
Meteorologists said the eruption was small and no-one was in danger.
The last eruption in this area was some 800 years ago.
