More than a few chairlift riders at a Romanian ski resort pulled out their phones to record a bear in hot pursuit of skier. The skier apparently did not know he was being chased until hearing whistles and shouts from the people on the lift. Romanian news outlet Digi24 reports the man threw his backpack to distract the bear and made a safe escape. Ski patrol showed up and the sound of their snowmobiles scared the bear off. Spokesman for the District Inspectorate of the Gendarmerie, Ion Zaharia, said such incidents are not uncommon….gnarly.
