German police chased were out in force this weekend chasing people defying the current stay at home order off the slopes of Winterberg, east of Duesseldorf.  Global News reports Winterberg experienced an influx of thousands of people in recent days which led to traffic jams, overcrowded parking lots and several breaches of anti-COVID-19 regulations, according to local police:

“Yesterday, there were again repeated violations of the coronavirus restrictions and the requirement to wear face masksThis has led the town to ban people from entering some of the ski slopes,” -Police Spokesman Sebastian Held

Germany is likely to extend a national lockdown beyond Jan. 10th but its unclear how long they will last.
