Alta’s 83rd annual opening day appears to have gone off without a hitch and we wanted to congratulate the 4 skiers pictured above who showed up at 3am to secure first chair on Collins. Operating a ski resort during a global pandemic presents many challenges and things will be looking a little different this year the legendary Utah ski destination. The parking lot is where skiers will see the biggest change.

KSL reports parking will be limited based on a small capacity level at the resort. Skiers who pre-purchase tickets will still be relying on a first come, first served basis.  There’s no carpool option this year and once the lot if full they are “shutting’er down” so be aware before you leave your house. Alta has a parking forecast tool on its website to help and requests visitors reference it before heading up to the hill.
