Mikaela Shiffrin’s 17 straight slalom World Cup podium finish streak came to an end over the weekend after a fourth place finish at an event in Levi, Finland.  Mikaela had been top three in every slalom she competed in since failing to finish an event in Switzerland in January 2018. The 4th place finish comes after a 10-month break from competition. Coming into the weekend, Mikaela had not raced since the death of her father, Jeff Shiffrin, in early February. The coronavirus outbreak and a back injury prevented her from an earlier return to the World Cup circuit. On or off the podium, we’re just happy to see Mikaela back out there tearing it up.
