“I probably trained about 60 people this summer. I have not had one fall.” -Ben Nilsson

Dig this new dry land ski training device developed by a ski coach out of Breckenridge. NEWS9 reports Ben Nilsson’s invention is so new it doesn’t have a name yet but its part skateboard, part ski gear and designed to simulate the sensation of carving on snow. It can make turns sharp enough to stop a rider but also comes with a brake, just in case.

“I think it’s a great thing for kids in urban areas. I think it could change the first-time skiers experience so when they go on snow it’s more fun and they return.”

There’s only the one prototype but Nilsson is shopping it around at places like Meier Skis to see if there’s a path manufacturing his “street shredder” invention and start selling it. Best of luck to Nilsson and the future urbran street shredder, love the idea of city kids getting some training before they head to the slopes for a more successful on mountain experience.
