The Conservation Officer Service is reporting that a 58-year-old man was attacked by a grizzly bear while mountain biking over the weekend on the Castle Pass Trail in Lillooet, BC.

The mama bear was with cubs when the attack happened.

His wife was able to scare the bear and her cubs off by spraying the bear with bear spray.

The man suffered injures to his abdomen and leg in the attack. The bear also bit and crushed the mans bike helmet. Thankfully the injuries were not life-threatening and he is recovering in hospital.
