Very cool news out of Switzerland where officials are planning the longest downhill racecourse in the world. Swiss Daily reports the course at Zermatt could be ready to start as early as November 2022 and would span two countries (where do you stick a passport in a speedsuit). Racers would start at 12,800ft on the Swiss side of The Matterhorn and drop into Italy where the race would finish at 3,600ft (9,200ft vert drop). Project leader Franz Julen estimates the racers would complete the course in around 2.5 minutes. I hope the Swiss fans start training their upper bodies now because that long time time to be shaking the cowbell.
