A Heavenly ski patroller, Christopher John Nicholson, was found unconscious in the Mott Canyon area of Heavenly ski resort on Saturday, January 18th, 2020.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office in Nevada, the 36-year-old Nicholson was flown via Care Flight to Caron Valley Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Local authorities are currently working on determining a cause of death.

On January 18, 2020 the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office received information regarding an individual who was found unconscious in the Mott Canyon area of Heavenly Ski Resort. The individual was flown via Care Flight to Carson Valley Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as, 36-year-old Christopher John Nicholson of South Lake Tahoe, CA. Nicholson was a member of the Heavenly Ski Patrol and had been working that day. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and Washoe County Coroner’s Office is working to identify a cause of death.
