Just a few weeks ago, we had the opportunity to be part of the grand opening of the first indoor ski slope in North America. The Canadian development firm behind the ski slope, Triple Five Worldwide, now plans to start construction of a second indoor ski slope as part of American Dream Miami. Construction could get underway as soon as late 2021 with a projected opening date of 2025, according to Miguel Diaz de la Portilla, an attorney who represents Triple Five Worldwide.

The five million square foot mall and ski slope are forecasted to cost between $4.5 billion to $5 billion. Triple Five Worldwide has said that 65% of its space will be dedicated to entertainment options, including an ice-skating rink, aquarium, submarine lake, and roller-skating facility.

Triple Five Worldwide manages several malls in North America, including Minnesota’s Mall of America.
