Check out this insane story of a swimmer who was partially swallowed and spit out by a Bryde’s Whale 25 nautical miles off the coast of South Africa back in Feburary. 51 year old Rainer Schimpf was documenting a sardine run (a natural event where gannets, penguins, seals, dolphins, whales and sharks work together to gather the fish into bait balls) when all of a sudden the sea around him churned up and his team knew something strange was happening.  The potential was there for this to turn tragic but thankfully the whale release him and now he has a story that will last a lifetime:
