The Alps got blasted with an early-season snowfall that has allowed a handful of ski areas to get up and running for some September skiing and riding. Images from the Alps show deep snow across Switzerland and Italy.

Passo Stelvio in Italy, which just received over a foot of new snow, is open for skiing and snowboarding, along with the glacier at Hintertux in Austria and the glacier above Zermatt in Switzerland that is also accessed from Cervinia.
The 2019/20 ski season has also officially kicked off in Norway after the Galdhopiggen summer ski center, the highest ski center in Scandinavia, re-opened after it also received over a foot of new snow.
