An elderly man was caught in an avalanche at Thredbo Ski Resort
while hiking on a walking track with his wife yesterday. The rescue came just 24 hours after a father and his 10-year-old daughter were rescued from deep powder nearby.
A spokesperson for Fire and Rescue NSW told 9News firefighters quickly arrived at the scene on snowmobiles and found him waving for help.
The man was taken to the Thredbo Medical Centre where he was treated for a fractured ankle.
Its was a crazy weekend at Thredbo with more than 100cm of snow and more is expected this weekend.
