A group of three snowboarders from Asheville, North Carolina describe their harrowing experience on the last day of their vacation at Breckenridge.  They were on an expert run called Whale’s Tail when he heard a pop and saw a seam open in the snow Friday afternoon. After that instincts took over and the boys swam hard to stay afloat and thankfully ended up on top when the debris settled:
