Big Sky Launches Night Skiing Program Using Headlamps

Big Sky Resort launched a new night skiing program a few weeks ago and it looks super rad. The Billings Gazette reports that unlike traditional night skiing using powerful stadium style lighting, Big Sky straps up guests with  2,100-lumen Lupine Blika headlamps that have remote control that attaches to your ski pole.

For $390 (guide included) groups of 7 access Andesite Mountain via the new eight-passenger heated Ramcharger 8 chairlift.  Ramcharger 8 also has drop down bubble shield so that frigid night air shouldn’t be a problem. Night skiing is offered between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday through the end of March. LEARN MORE HERE:

“Have you ever gone night-skiing with a headlamp before? Treat yourself and your companions to a unique on-mountain adventure you’re not going to forget.  Big Sky Resort’s new night skiing experience is unlike anything else in North America.  The escapade begins as the sun begins to set over Lone Peak and continues into the night, as countless stars illuminate the vast Montana sky.

Meet your private guide at 6:30pm outside the Mountain Sports Office in the Snowcrest Building. They’ll then take you to Ramcharger 8, Big Sky’s brand new eight-seat chairlift with heated seats and a weather-proof bubble.  You will be given state-of-the-art headlamps — as powerful as a car headlight— to fasten onto your helmets. These headlamps will illuminate your way down freshly groomed runs that you have all to yourself. Your guide will ski your party – up to 7 people – all over Andesite Mountain until 8:30 pm. Book this exclusive experience today and go home with memories to last a lifetime.”

-Night Skiing is available each Wednesday through Saturday. Skiers and snowboarders must be at or above level six.
