Photo’s from NASA show the Sierra Nevada in February of 2018 and February this year.

NASA has released satellite images of California’s Sierra Nevada buried in snow. When the image is compared to the same NASA image from the same time last year, the massive amount of snow blanketing the California’s mountains is really put into perspective.

The Sierra Nevada is having a historic month for snowfall with February 2019 already setting records for the snowiest February on record.

“The Sierra Nevada is really living up to its name ‘snowy mountain range’ this year. With snow reports coming in feet & snow storms still moving in, it’s now home to the snowiest ski resort in the U.S.,” NASA tweeted.
