On Saturday, a group of skiers were skiing in the Park City backcountry when on of the skiers triggered a slide on a 47 degrees slope.

The terrifying moments when the avalanche ripped down the slope was filmed by the skier who triggered the slide. The footage (see below) was released by the Utah Avalanche Center (UAC).

The 3 foot deep avalanche stretched 200 feet wide and traveled downhill approximately 200 vertical feet through trees and rocks. The speed of the slide is evident in the footage.

Utah Avalanche Center said the person who triggered the slide was the fourth skier on that slope that day.

Luckily, a ski sticking out of the snow allowed the victims friends to locate him and dig him out within a minute.
