The Aspen Daily News reports a 9 year old Aspen boy has been released from the hospital and is home with his family after falling 31 feet from an Aspen Highlands chairlift Saturday.
The boy was participating in an Aspen Valley Ski and Snowboard Club program at the time of the incident. He fell from the Thunder Bowl lift just after Tower 1. The boy was riding the lift with another child. Ski patrollers responded to the scene and stabilized him before transporting to the hospital.
“From what we know, there were no issues with the load, and the riders were in the chair out of the loading area.” -Aspen Skiing Co. VP of Communications Jeff Hanle
