An avalanche near the Italian ski area of Courmayeur has claimed the lives of 4 skiers reports the Mirror. The slide occurred “off-piste” in the upper reaches of the Val Veny area.

The victims included 2 British and 2 French nationals, however, one person remains missing in the slide. The other three have been recovered by search and rescue personnel. Avalanche dogs and a helicopter are supporting the recovery effort.
