Here’s a hypothetical: Subaru Outback and a Ford F-150 are sitting in your driveway on the morning of a pow day.  The mountain is a good 15 miles away and you want to get first chair. Side streets are mostly unplowed and have a solid 6 inches of snow (with drifts getting who knows how tall) and highways is guaranteed to be sloppy at best. Which vehicle do you take to give you the best chance of getting first tracks?

***Obviously take this car vs truck argument with a grain of salt as not all cars or trucks are created equal. No matter what type of vehicle you drive having the proper tires will give you a massive advantage driving in snow so if you don’t own snow/studded tires already seriously look into purchasing.
