Can’t find a single video demonstrating this “Smart-Helmet” capabilities and and do not endorse it in any way but do appreciate some of the features if only in theory. The Swagtron Snowtide ($149.99) has impact sensors that activate in the event of a crash and send text/email alerts to your emergency contacts with your location.

Quickly connect to your smartphone via Bluetooth to answer calls or find the perfect song for the perfect run. Download the Snowtide iOS/Android app to unlock advanced features including real-time stats like distance, duration, vertical, speed, altitude and slope angle.Whether it’s trying to meet up in the lift line or knowing when it’s safe to drop that backcountry booter, communication is key. The Snowtide’s two-way group “walkie-talkie” feature with one-button Push to Talk (PTT) and unlimited range* makes hand-held radios obsolete.

We all fall, and if you go down hard, the Snowtide’s advanced S.O.S alert system can call for backup. Built-in impact sensors will sound the helmet’s personal alarm letting you know it’s been activated. All good? Clear it. But if you need help, after 60 seconds the Snowtide will automatically send text and/or email alerts with your location to the emergency contact(s) you’ve preset in the app.

And if you lose track of your Snowtide, a loss prevention system will sound an alarm on both the app and the helmet if they are separated by 50 feet.

Sliding vents provide breathability on warm days or when you’re bootpacking bonus lines. Riding in the white room? Close them on-the-fly for insulation from the elements.
