Shaun White Apologizes To Special Olympic Community For 'Simple Jack' Halloween Costume

Shaun White apologized to the Special Olympics community yesterday for his “insensitivity.” That insensitivity is in relation to him dressing up like an extremely controversial character from the 2008 comedy Tropic Thunder for Halloween.

Since the movie’s debut, Ben Stiller’s ‘Simple Jack’ has been derided for ridiculing special needs individuals, not to mention the stereotypical nature of the character itself. White says the decision to dawn the Simple Jack costume was a “last-minute decision” and that it was indeed, “the wrong decision.”
