If you’re looking for an easy way to avoid the heat of the Salt Lake Valley this weekend, The Cottonwood Canyon Association is hosting the Wasatch Wildflower Festival on Saturday and Sunday this weekend, July 28th and 29th.

Saturday is hosted at Alta, Sunday will be hosted at Snowbird.

Enjoy an easy 45 minute stroll or [up to] a 3 hour challenging hike with our trained Wasatch Wildflower Guides…or grab a map of the route and head out on your own. Naturalists will be stationed along hiking routes to share information about particular points of interest. Marvel at the beautiful flora and fauna while learning about our amazing Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest!

The event is free, but there will be an opportunity to grab a cold one after checking out the local flora and fauna and learning a thing or two about your back yard. If you’ve never had the pleasure of taking a lap around Little Cottonwood in the summer, you’re missing out. Just watch out for moose – they’re known for walking right through the backyard of the Alta Lodge.
