Idaho’s Silver Mountain will open its slopes for free this weekend as a part of a benevolent promotion from Dave Smith Motors in nearby Kellogg.

The gondola as well as Chairs 1 & 2 are scheduled to be open on May 12 and 13. The late season weekend of skiing and riding is all thanks to an deeper than normal snowpack.

“Opening this late in the season only happens once or twice in a decade, so be sure to come up for some of the best spring skiing in recent years.” – Silver Mountain

The terrain park should be open and guests can expect a bumping bbq, live music, and an outside bar. Season passes are still valid and newcomers can pick up their free lift ticket from one of the windows.

Lift Hours:

  • Gondola upload start- 8:15
  • Chair 1 & 2 start- 9:00
  • Last chair-3:30
