It’s not often that the Michigan ski season extends into May. It’s even less often that two Michigan resorts have the opportunity to see who can keep lifts spinning the longest through the last month of spring.
This year Mt Bohemia and Boyne Mountain are battling it out to see who can stay open the longest with the loser donating $1,000 buckaroos to the charity of the winner’s choosing. Both resorts have seen massive snowfall this year with Bohemia getting the most with 302″ YTD.
“Boyne is sitting in lower Mich. with an arsenal of state of the art snow making and grooming, plus spring golf packages to sweeten the deal . Bohemia is located in the northeast point of U.P. of Mich. and is completely supported by natural snow and doesn’t groom its mountain. Winning resort has to donate $1000 to the winners choice.”
What’s better than the charitable wager is the hilariously obvious difference between those who ski Boyne and those who ski Bohemia. Hawaiian shirt vs. Employee parka for instance…
