Like the old saying goes, March is ‘coming in like a lion’ but we sure as hell don’t want to see it,  ‘leave like a lamb.’ With upwards of 6 feet forecasted, we don’t think that’s going to be a problem. The snow is piling up in classic Sierra fashion and with that in mind– here are 5 reasons why Mammoth Mountain is the place to ski/ride this spring.

5) Deepest Base in the Sierra

Mammoth is currently hosting the deepest Base depth in the Sierra at 130″. That snowpack will allow skiers and riders to take full advantage of the March/April powder days to come.

4) High Elevations

Thanks to its high elevations, Mammoth stayed cool through the warm months this winter. Ultimately, they were able to retain their snowpack while some Tahoe resorts got burned by the long dry dryspell in Jan/Feb.

3) #MiracleMarch

We’ve already seen one storm clobber the Sierra and we’re currently in the midst of another large system. This upcoming storm should deliver up to 5 feet at the higher elevations.

2) The Yodler

When it comes to aprés on a sunny spring day @Mammoth, you’ve got to head to the Yodler’s sun deck. Hofbrau anyone?

1) Long days, steep lines

Daylight savings is in full effect and maxing out long days on the ski hill is a must. Knock that line you’ve always wanted to ski off the bucket list before it’s too late and get as many turns in as you can.
