According to the Summit County Sheriff’s Office, a 20 year old Salt Lake City man was pronounced dead after striking a tree while skiing an advanced trail on the Canyon’s Village side of Park City Mountain.

FOX13 reports the 911 call to the Summit County Sheriff’s Office came in at at approximately 1:45 p.m. Monday about an injured skier that had struck a tree.

Resuscitation attempts were made but they were unsuccessful. The man was later pronounced dead. Deputies are still investigating the incident and the identity of the man has not been released as extended family members are notified of the tragedy.
