It’s been snowing atop Mauna Kea in Hawaii since Monday! NOAA issued a Winter Weather Advisory that is calling for 2-4″ of snow on Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa.
Periods of snow and rain will continue, with the more intense precipitation falling in the form of snow. Additional snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches are expected. - NOAA Honolulu
The entrance to the summit of Mauna Kea has been closed at the Visitor Information Station at the 9,200-foot level due to fog and icy roadways.
Temperatures are expected to fluctuate near the freezing mark — ranging from 33°F to 27°F — throughout the day with east winds of 15 to 25 miles per hour.
