“You know, I’m thinking I’m an athlete, so it shouldn’t take me no time — 30, 40 minutes I’ll be going down the hill in no time. But it wasn’t like that.”

It may have taken 307 pound Detroit Lions defensive tackle Akeem Spence a half and hour just to stand up the first time he went snowboarding but after extending his first trip to Park City from 3 day to a week he was carving it up and hooked on the sport. ESPN reports by the end of that first trip, Spence (who was inspired to snowboard by watching Shaun White and playing his video game as a kid) was carving down blue, green and black trails.

Just goes to show you snowboarding can be fun for people of all shapes and sizes. If you know an oversized athlete who likes to shred this might be a good share.
