Matt Sterbenz arrived on the ski scene when the sport was in dire need of a sea change. Hobbled by a lack of company cooperation with its athletes, freestyle skiing was hitting the skids right when it was supposed to take off.

So in order to catch the trend, Sterbenz ditched his race loving sponsor, Fischer Skis, and went ahead to start his own ski company that would represent the next generation of skiers.
