This shocking video comes from climbing expedition on Lenin Peak in Kyrgyzstan from back in July. The six German climbers and two Swiss climbers survived the slide.

The filmer ,Magnus Lindkvist from Sweden, can be heard shouting, “Helvete, Helvete”, which translates to, “Oh hell”. He was filming from Base Camp 2, which is 5,300 meters above sea level.

The eight climbers abandoned their ascent of Lenin Peak (elevation 7,134m) after getting hit by the avalanche and continued their journey at a lower altitude.

Previous attempts to conquer Lenin Peak have ended in massive tragedy. 40 climbers were killed by an avalanche at Base Camp 2 in 1990.
