Who loves Bode Miller? Everyone– that’s who. So in order to keep the populace from rioting, they’re hiring Bode Miller as a key commentator for the 2018 Olympics in Pyeongchang reports 7 News.

The announcement follows an interview with Graham Bensinger, where he told the sports journalist that competing at the World Cup or Olympic levels was no longer in the cards.

“Anytime Bode Miller is on skis, you just have to watch. Now, when he talks about skiing, you’ll want to hear to what he has to say. His opinions are as intuitive and fearless as his turns and, simply put, he will make us better.” – Jim Bell, President, NBC Olympics Production & Programming

That decision was the result of a series of unfortunate events that began with Miller tearing his right hamstring during his final appearance in the starting gate in 2015. That injury was followed by a series of legal battles between Bode and former sponsor, Head skis. Following him signing with Bomber Skis, Head forbid Miller from competing at FIS events.

So instead of racing, Bode is doing the next best thing– giving the best ski racing commentary you could ever imagine at the Pyeongchang Olympics. We can only hope that Bode will have his ‘bad boy line of the race’ for each discipline.
