Skiing at 55 mph and flying over 800 feet is no longer confined to the winter months as advanced materials have made year round ski jumping not only possible but almost identical in conditions. The launch track is made of ceramic porcelain tiles that are wetted down giving the feeling and speed of ice. Hopefully all the extra practice in the air will translate to some record setting flights in Pyeongchang.
