Couldn’t be sure if this attack was instigated because the moose mistook the dog as a wolf and was prompted to charge, but it certainly reminded me of an article I posted a while back about moose attacks being linked to dogs:

“3 women recently involved in moose attacks in Colorado all have one thing in common….at the time of the attack they were accompanied by their dogs.  Makes complete sense that a moose might misidentify your household pet as one of his arch enemies, the wolf, and feel threatened.

Since 2013 there have been 15 documented moose attacks in Colorado. To avoid potentially dangerous moose encounters be aware that at this time of the year moose can be very protective of their calves and keep your dog on leash at all times.”

***Remember to be super aware if you are hiking in moose country with your dog.  The evidence is out there so please be safe.
