Sam Bencheghib and Gary Bencheghib are sick of having the world’s most polluted river in their backyard. So in order to raise awareness and ultimately help clean up the river, the two are taking to the water in a kayak fashioned out of plastic water bottles, recycled fishing net, and bamboo.

The real risk in their attempt lies in the fact that falling into the river is not an option. Nearby plants, farms, and manufacturing facilities are known to directly dump their arsenic, lead, and other toxins directly into the Citarum river; a practice that is continually making some of the 5 million surrounding residents extremely ill. Best of luck guys!
