A team of 15 scientist climbed over 20,00ft to collect ice samples from rapidly melting glaciers on Illimani Mountain in Bolivia. They were able to collect 75 ice samples by drilling over 430ft into the ice core. The samples will be studied at an archive sanctuary in Antartica. The core samples contain “18,000 years of climatic history” and offer an invaluable data. Please share this around with anyone who takes interest in current and past climate conditions.
