The news marks the end of SIA’s nearly two decade run as the premiere ski industry trade show in North America but more importantly– the move will merge both shows into one mega, outdoor retail event. The new show will be titled “Outdoor Retailer + Snow Show.”

Emerald Expositions LLC will continue to produce the B2B shows and exposition. SIA President, Nick Sargent said that the industry hoped the two would combine for a long time and that the new show will not only help reduce “stress on our industry” but provide “greater ROI” for participating businesses.

While they refrained from saying it with absolute certainty, a recent release states that “it’s anticipated that the first combined Outdoor Retailer + Snow Show trade show will stage January 2018 in Denver, Colorado.”

The merger will likely bring an extremely well attended event that opens communication channels between proximal industries like never before.
