The Resero Whistle is a safety solution for snowboarders caught in avalanches that uses small pyrotechnic charges to blow snowboard binding straps clean off at the pull of a wearable trigger, releasing the snowboard and reducing the downward pressure anchoring effect of avalanche snow.

The concept may seem like a cartoonish solution but its the real deal and was tested and developed by world class big mountain snowboarder Xavier de La Rue.  Resero Whistle debuted last week at the Munich ISPO, the world’s largest multi-segment exhibition for the sports industry, where it won an award.
