Normally a 13th place finish would elicit some negative feelings from the world’s winningest female ski racer but after returning from a severely broken arm, Lindsey Vonn is simply stoked to be back on the race course.

Vonn’s 2017 debut came @Altenmarkt-Zauchensee with a 13th place finish this past weekend and after the race she posted to Facebook saying, “it was a tough race to find my rhythm and timing but I know what I need to fix for next weekend.” She went on to congratulate US Ski teammate Jackie Wiles on the ski racer’s first career podium in the downhill. “So proud of her and proud to have her as an ambassador for the Lindsey Vonn Foundation!”

Reports after the race indicated that nerve damage in Vonn’s hand interrupted her pre-race routine and resulted in a slower than normal start out of the gate. Austrian Christine Scheyer claimed the overall victory followed by Tina Weirather, and Jackie Wiles.
