A man from Kalispell Montana is dead after being caught in an avalanche on Thursday afternoon on the south face of Stanton Peak in Glacier National Park reports KPAX.com.

The victim has since been identified as 36 year-old Benjamin Parsons. Parsons was accompanied by two partners at the time of the incident. One of the partners was above the victim when the avalanche occurred and proceeded to call the ranger’s office. The third member of the party was below the avalanche but was not caught in the slide. Parson’s died of injuries sustained in the avalanche.
