Sweden’s Maria Pietilae-Holmner (30) sustained a ligament injury yesterday after a violent crash across the finish line at the women’s World Cup giant slalom in Semmering, Austria. Pietilae-Holmnerwill injuries will not require surgery but she will be sidelined for 6-8 weeks according to excellesports.com. She hopes to finish out her season in the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in February.
